Status report
The Rangers placed Iorio, a defenseman, on injured reserve; he skated Monday in a noncontact jersey. … McAvoy will serve the first of a six-game suspension, a ban the defenseman received for slashing Buffalo Sabres forward Zach Benson during Game 6 of the Eastern Conference First Round last season. … Poitras, a forward, was on the ice after the morning skate Tuesday but will not play. He was injured while practicing last week and is out indefinitely.
