Geekie agreed to a one-year, $1.4 million contract with the Seattle Kraken on July 24, 2022, four days after his 20th birthday, to avoid a salary arbitration hearing. He made an impression on the NHL expansion team with 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists) in 73 games, all NHL career highs.
He signed with the Boston Bruins on July 1, 2023, after helping the Kraken reach the Western Conference Second Round, and received a six-year, $33 million contract with the Bruins on June 29, 2025, after setting NHL career highs in goals (33), assists (24) and points (57).
Geekie was born in Strathclair, Manitoba, his father Craig a defenseman for Brandon and Spokane in the Western Hockey League and brother, Conor, working his way to Winnipeg of the WHL and becoming the No. 11 pick by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2022 NHL Draft. Morgan was a third-round pick (No. 67) in the 2017 NHL Draft and signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on May 10, 2018. He helped Charlotte of the American Hockey League win the 2019 Calder Cup with 46 points (19 goals, 27 assists) in 73 regular-season games and 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists) in 19 playoff games.
Morgan Geekie made his NHL debut March 8, 2020, getting two goals and an assist in Carolina's 6-2 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The following season, he was chosen by the Kraken in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft and established himself as a regular top-nine forward.
