Yegor Sharangovich made his NHL debut Jan. 14, 2021 and scored his first goal in his second game against the Boston Bruins on Jan. 16. He scored 30 points (16 goals, 14 assists) in 54 games, and was fourth among NHL rookies in 2020-21 in goals and points. He also played a significant role on New Jersey's penalty kill, averaging 1:47 of shorthanded ice time per game.

New Jersey rewarded Sharangovich with a two-year contract Aug. 5, 2021.

New Jersey rewarded Sharangovich with a two-year contract Aug. 5, 2021. After three seasons with the Devils, Sharangovich was traded to the Calgary Flames with a third-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft for Tyler Toffoli on June 27, 2023. He signed a two-year, $6.2 million contract the next day.

Born in Minsk, Belarus, Sharangovich was taken by the Devils in the fifth round (No. 141) of the 2018 NHL Draft and signed a three-year, entry-level contract July 25, 2018. He scored 42 points (19 goals, 23 assists) in 125 games during two seasons with Binghamton of the American Hockey League (2018-20).

Sharangovich played for Minsk in the Kontinental Hockey League with the 2020-21 NHL season delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, scoring 25 points (17 goals, eight assists) in 34 games while working on his shot release with assistant coach Mikhail Grabovksi.

Sharangovich scored three points (two goals, one assist) in seven games for Belarus at the 2021 IIHF World Championship. He also played at the tournament in 2017 and 2018.
