At 5-foot-8, Harry "Pee Wee" Oliver didnít let his lack of size stop him from having a great career.

Oliver played junior and senior hockey with his hometown team in Selkirk, Manitoba, before moving to Calgary to play in the Western Canada Hockey League from 1920-26. In his time there, Oliver was described as "smooth as silk" by a Calgary sports editor.

After the WCHL folded, Oliver was sold to the Boston Bruins, where he played the first eight of his 11 NHL seasons and won the Stanley Cup in 1929. He became the first Bruins player to score four goals in a game when he did it in a 6-3 win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Jan. 11, 1927.

In 1928-29 Oliver tied for fourth in the NHL with 17 goals, and his 23 points in 43 games led the Bruins. He added two points (one goal, one assist) in five playoff games to help the Bruins win the Stanley Cup for the first time.

In 1934 the Bruins sold Oliver's rights to the New York Americans, where he would play until he retired after the 1936-37 season. Oliver had 212 points (127 goals, 85 assists) in 465 NHL career games.

After retirement, Oliver returned to Selkirk and spent the next 25 years as an electrician. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1967.
