



MacInnis was a second-round pick (No. 43) by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2014 NHL Draft and signed a three-year, entry-level contract on April 10, 2015.
He played two seasons for their American Hockey League affiliate before being traded by the Coyotes to the Blue Jackets for Jacob Graves and a conditional pick at the 2019 Draft on July 18, 2018.
After starting the 2019-20 season with 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in 28 games for Cleveland of the AHL, MacInnis made his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets against the New Jersey Devils on Dec. 21, 2019. He was credited with his first NHL point, an assist, on Dec. 27 at the Washington Capitals.
MacInnis scored 37 points (16 goals, 21 assists) in 66 games for Kitchener of the Ontario Hockey League prior to being drafted. He had 62 points in 67 games in 2014-15, then scored 81 points (38 goals, 43 assists) in 59 games in his final season of junior hockey.
He is the son of Hockey Hall of Fame defenseman Al MacInnis.
