Misa completed an outstanding 2024-25 season for Saginaw of the Ontario Hockey League, one when he was moved to center after playing left wing the previous two. He led the OHL with 134 points (62 goals, 72 assists) in 65 games and was voted "Smartest Player" in the Western Conference by a 2024-25 OHL coaches poll. It was the most points in an OHL season since Patrick Kane had 145 points (62 goals, 83 assists) in 58 games for London in 2006-07.

That led the San Jose Sharks taking Misa with the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, adding to a core that included Macklin Celebrini, chosen No. 1 in the 2024 NHL Draft, Will Smith (No. 4, 2023 NHL Draft) and William Eklund (No. 7, 2021 NHL Draft). He signed his entry-level contract with the Sharks on Sept. 10 and made his NHL debut Oct. 14, when he was minus-2 in 15:06 of ice time in a 5-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes at SAP Center. He scored his first NHL goal in his fifth game, a 6-5 win at the Minnesota Wild on Oct. 26.

Misa was named the winner of the 2025 E.J. McGuire Award of Excellence presented by NHL Central Scouting in honor of McGuire, who was director of Central Scouting from 2005 until he died of cancer April 7, 2011, and given annually "to the NHL Draft prospect who best exemplifies commitment to excellence through strength of character, competitiveness and athleticism." He was granted exceptional status by Hockey Canada to play in the OHL as a 15-year-old, becoming one of nine players to have ever done so in the Canadian Hockey League. In 2024-25, he had points in 60 of his 65 games including multipoint outings in 46 of them; his 134 points tied John Tavares (2006-07) for the most by an under-18 player since 2000. Misa's 62 goals were tied for the third-most by a draft-eligible skater in OHL history, part of a season highlighted by a 28-game point streak (63 points; 28 goals, 35 assists) from Dec. 29 through March 6.

Misa was the first player in Saginaw history to win the Red Tilson Trophy as the OHL's most outstanding player and the first OHL player to earn the honor, the Eddie Powers Trophy as leading scorer and the Bobby Smith Trophy as top scholastic player, in the same season since Dave Simpson with London in 1981-82.
