Malcolm Spence was drafted by the Rangers in the second round, 43rd overall, of the 2025 NHL Draft. During the 2024-25 season, he skated in 65 games for the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), recording a career-high 32 goals and 41 assists for a career-high 73 points. He led the Otters in game-winning goals (seven) and short-handed goals (five), ranked tied for second on the team in goals (32), third on the team in assists (41) and third on the team in points (73). Spence also appeared in nine games in the OHL playoffs, collecting nine points (4G, 5A). The Hamilton, Ontario native has skated with the Otters for three seasons, combining for 67 goals and 110 assists for 177 points in 195 games. He is committed to play at the University of Michigan in 2025-26.
