Silayev signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the New Jersey Devils on June 1, 2026, after playing three seasons for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the Kontinental Hockey League. The No. 10 pick in the 2024 NHL Draft ended the 2025-26 season with Nizhny's junior team in the MHL playoffs, where he had two assists in four games, and left for North America after getting 26 points (six goals, 20 assists) in 187 KHL games and four assists in 19 playoff games.

Silayev had a KHL career high 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) in 2024-25, and his 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 2023-24 were most by an under-18 player in league history to pass Vladimir Tarasenko's 10 for Novosibirsk in 2008-09. When he played for Torpedo, his coach was Igor Larionov, a Hockey Hall of Famer who played 14 NHL seasons, including the Devils in 2003-04, and is a three-time Stanley Cup champion with the Detroit Red Wings.

Silayev averaged 14:54 of ice time per game in 2023-24 and was No. 1 on NHL Central Scouting's final ranking of International skaters eligible for the 2024 draft.
