Dalibor Dvorsky proved that goal scoring is in DNA and why the St. Louis Blues selected the native of Zvolen, Slovakia, in the first round (No. 10) of the 2023 NHL Draft with his performance at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. His six points (three goals, three assists) for fourth-place Team Slovakia were the most in an Olympics by an NHL rookie and tied with Evgeni Malkin of Russia at the 2006 Torino Games for the second-most points by a player age 20 or younger in an Olympics involving NHL players, behind Team Canada forward Macklin Celebrini (10). He also passed Alex Ovechkin of Russia (2006), and Sami Vatanen and Olli Maatta of Finland (Sochi in 2014), each of whom had five points.

For Dvorsky, it was about trusting himself and playing for his teammates, which had him at 15 points (nine goals, six assists) in 47 games for the Blues at the time of the Olympic break and scoring his first NHL goal in his fifth game, a 3-2 win against the Edmonton Oilers at Enterprise Center in St. Louis on Nov. 3, 2025. He scored 21 goals in 61 games with Springfield of the American Hockey League in 2024-25, and 45 goals in 52 games the season before with Sudbury of the Ontario Hockey League.

A few weeks after the 2023 Draft, Dvorsky signed a three-year, entry-level contract with St. Louis on July 14, 2023, and began the 2023-24 season playing for IK Oskarshamn in the Swedish Hockey League. He had 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 38  games for AIK of HockeyAllsvenskan the previous season, and played at the 2023 IIHF under-18 and under-20 World Junior Championships (2022, '23, '24, '25), and the 2025 IIHF World Championship.

Dvorsky's prior international experience was winning a silver medal at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he led the tournament with eight goals, and winning gold in D1A of the 2022 U-18 World Juniors.
