Yurov signed his entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild on May 16, 2025, setting him up for his North American debut in 2025-26.
The 21-year-old forward taken by the Wild in the first round (No. 24) of the 2022 NHL Draft had 25 points (13 goals, 12 assists) in 46 games for Metallurg during his final season in the Kontinental Hockey League, one season after his 49 points (21 goals, 28 assists) set KHL career highs and broke Vladimir Tarasenko's league record (47 for HC Sibir and SKA Saint Petersburg in 2011-12) for most points in a season by a player under age 21. Yurov's nine points (six goals, three assists) in 23 playoff games helped Metallurg to the 2024 Gagarin Cup Championship.
Yurov left his native Russia after five seasons in the KHL (88 points; 41 goals, 47 assists in 209 games). He won a silver medal at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship with 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in seven games, ranking second in the tournament in assists and tied for fifth in scoring. His eight points (two goals, six assists) in six games helped Russia win gold at the 2020 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge.
