The Nashville Predators didn't just like L'Heureux enough to trade up in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft to select him with the No. 27 pick. They made him the first player from his draft class to sign a three-year, entry-level contract July 28, 2021.
Chosen by Halifax with the No. 3 pick of the 2019 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League draft, L'Heureux tied for the lead among QMJHL rookies with 53 points (20 goals, 33 assists) in 55 games in 2019-20. He was second on Halifax in 2020-21 with 39 points (19 goals, 20 assists) in 33 games and fifth in the league with 47 penalty minutes.
L'Heureux made his NHL debut against the Boston Bruins on Oct. 22, 2024, scored his first NHL goal at the Vancouver Canucks on Nov. 17 and led rookies with 198 hits. He was traded to the Colorado Avalanche on June 24, 2026, after playing 25 NHL games (four goals, one assist) and 30 games for Milwaukee in the American Hockey League (20 points; 14 goals, 14 assists).
The Montreal native played four seasons in the QMJHL with Halifax and Moncton before turning pro. He's represented Canada at the 2019 World U-17 Hockey Challenge and Quebec at the 2019 Canada Winter Games, scoring at 10:39 of overtime to defeat Ontario 4-3 in the championship game.
