Seth Jarvis' breakout season in the NHL earned him an eight-year, $63.2 million contract he signed with the Carolina Hurricanes on Aug. 31, 2024, $29.24 million in signing bonuses. The following season he helped Canada win the inaugural 4 Nations Face-Off. He had one shot on goal, a blocked shot and three hits in 12:45 of ice time during the championship game, a 3-2 overtime victory against the United States at TD Garden in Boston on Feb. 20, 2025.

Jarvis helped Team Canada win silver at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 as an injury replacement for Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brayden Point.

During Jarvis' age 22 season, he ranked second among Hurricanes skaters in goals (33) and points (67), and led Carolina in power-play goals (13). He became the third member of the 2020 NHL Draft Class to have a 30-goal season, joining Tim Stutzle of the Ottawa Senators and Lucas Raymond of the Detroit Red Wings. The Winnipeg native had nine points (five goals, four assists) in 11 Stanley Cup Playoff games, leading the Hurricanes in goals, power-play points (four) and power-play goals (two).

Jarvis was selected by the Hurricanes with the No. 13 pick of the 2020 NHL Draft after a breakout season for Portland of the Western Hockey League in 2019-20, when he finished second in the WHL with 98 points (42 goals, 56 assists) in 58 games before the league ended its season March 12 due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus. He scored 63 points in his final 23 games.

Rated No. 11 among North American skaters in NHL Central Scouting's final rankings, Jarvis had 39 points (16 goals, 23 assists) in 61 games for Portland in 2018-19. He made his NHL debut Oct. 31, 2021, scored his first NHL goal against the Chicago Blackhawks on Nov. 3, and finished his rookie season with 40 points (17 goals, 23 assists) in 68 games.
