Krebs came to the Buffalo Sabres in the trade that sent Jack Eichel to the Vegas Golden Knights on Nov. 4, 2021. He signed a two-year, $2.9 million contract (average annual value of $1.45 million) with the Sabres on Sept. 17, 2024, after he had 17 points (four goals, 13 assists) in 80 games. The native of Okotoks, Canada, was chosen by the Golden Knights in the first round (No. 17) of the 2019 NHL Draft. He helped his country win gold at the 2023 IIHF World Championship, where he had five points (one goal, four assists) in 10 games. He was named the 2021 Western Hockey League player of the year after leading it with 30 assists and 43 points in 24 games for Winnipeg.
