Woll's role with the Toronto Maple Leafs was fast tracked when he entered Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Second Round of the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Florida Panthers after starter Ilya Samsonov was injured in a collision with teammate Luke Schenn early in the second period.
Woll signed a three-year, $10.98 million contract (average annual value $3.66 million) July 1, 2024. He went 12-11-1 with a 2.94 goals-against average and .907 save percentage in 25 games and 2-0 with an 0.86 GAA and .964 save percentage in the 2024 first round against the Boston Bruins. After going 15-16-7 with a 3.34 GAA, .899 save percentage and two shutouts, Woll was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers on June 16, 2026.
Woll was a third-round pick (No. 62) of the Maple Leafs in the 2016 NHL Draft, winning his NHL debut (23 saves) 5-4 at the Buffalo Sabres on Nov. 13, 2021. He played for the United States at the 2017 and 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship, winning a gold and bronze medal, respectively. He was 16-4-1 with a 2.37 goals-against average and .927 save percentage for Toronto in the American Hockey League in 2022-23, when he was named a North Division All-Star and represented the Marlies at the 2023 AHL All-Star Classic.
Woll was rewarded with a three-year contract by the Maple Leafs on Feb. 11, 2022.
