Perseverance, Sportsmanship and Dedication
After Ingram was chosen by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the third round (No. 88) of the 2016 NHL Draft, he completed his junior hockey career with a 2.68 goals-against average and .918 save percentage while going 81-50-18 in three seasons. He also played four games at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship to help Canada win a silver medal.
Ingram signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Lightning on April 4, 2017, but never played for them. He was traded to the Nashville Predators on June 14, 2019, for a seventh-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. He played an NHL career-high 50 games (48 starts) for the Arizona Coyotes in 2023-24 and 22 for the Utah Hockey Club in 2024-25 before entering the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program on March 9. He was cleared from the program Aug. 20 and was traded to the Edmonton Oilers on Oct. 1, and made 27 saves in a 5-0 win against the St. Louis Blues in Edmonton on Jan. 18, 2026, his first shutout since March 8, 2024, when he played for the Coyotes.
Ingram won the Masterton Trophy, which recognizes the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey, for the 2023-24 season.
