Capobianco earned some stability with the Dallas Stars when he signed a two-year, one-way contract June 24, 2026, a deal worth $850,000 for the first year and $900,000 for the second.
Capobianco played 33 games for the Stars the prior season (five points; two goals, three assists) while averaging 12:08 of time on ice per game. He signed a two-year contract with Dallas on July 1, 2024, after his 42 assists and 54 points for the Manitoba Moose led American Hockey League defensemen and his plus-29 rating tied for fourth in the league.
The native of Mississauga, Ontario, was selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the third round (No. 63) of the 2015 NHL Draft. He's played in the AHL for Tucson, Manitoba and Texas and won the 2024 Eddie Shore Award given to the league's most outstanding defenseman. Capobianco is also a bronze medal winner with Canada at the 2015 IIHF U18 World Junior Championship (one goal, one assist in seven games).
