Ho-Sang split his junior career between Windsor and Niagara of the Ontario Hockey League. In 256 OHL games, he had 292 points (82 goals, 210 assists). A first-round pick by the Islanders (No. 28) in the 2014 NHL Draft, Ho-Sang turned pro for the 2016-17 season with Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. He had 36 points (10 goals, 26 assists) in 50 games and was the CCM/AHL Rookie of the Month for February 2017 after having 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) and a plus-9 rating in 12 games.
Ho-Sang made his NHL debut with the Islanders on March 2, 2017, at the Dallas Stars and scored his first NHL goal five days later at the Edmonton Oilers. He remained with the Islanders the rest of the season and had 10 points in 21 games. Ho-Sang wears No. 66 in honor of former Pittsburgh Penguins center Mario Lemieux.
Ho-Sang's father, Wayne Ho-Sang, is of Jamaican and Chinese descent and played professional tennis in Canada. His mother, Erika, is Chilean. Ho-Sang was born and raised in Toronto.
