The No. 7 pick by the Hurricanes in the 2014 NHL Draft, Fleury signed a three-year, entry-level contract Aug. 8, 2014.
He played his first full pro season with Charlotte of the American Hockey League in 2016-17, scoring 26 points (seven goals, 19 assists) in 69 games and leading the team with a plus-16 rating.
Fleury played the majority of the 2017-18 season with the Hurricanes and had eight assists in 67 games. He split the following season between Carolina and the AHL and helped Charlotte win the Calder Cup with two goals and four assists in 11 playoff games.
He again landed a full-time role with the Hurricanes in 2019-20 and scored his first NHL goal against the Anaheim Ducks on Oct. 18, 2019.
Fleury signed a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning on July 13, 2022, after playing 36 games for the Seattle Kraken in their inaugural NHL season. After two seasons with the Lightning and one with the Winnipeg Jets, he signed a two-year, $1.9 million contract (average annual value of $950,000) to remain with the Jets on June 28, 2025, in lieu of becoming an unrestricted free agent.
Fleury's younger brother, Cale, was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round (No. 87) of the 2017 NHL Draft.
