Jarry earned a five-year, $26.9 million contract with the Penguins on July 1, 2023 after becoming the second-fastest goalie in team history to reach 100 wins in the NHL, doing so in 170 games after Pittsburgh's 2-1 win against the Calgary Flames on Nov. 23, 2022. He was traded to the Edmonton Oilers on Dec. 12, 2025.
He had one of his finest seasons in 2021-22, going 34-18-6 with a 2.24 goals-against average, .919 save percentage and four shutouts, and was named a Metropolitan Division All-Star for the second time (2020)
Jarry made the most of his first chance at significant playing time with the Penguins in 2019-20, going 20-12-1 with a 2.43 goals-against average, .921 save percentage and three shutouts in 33 games (31 starts) and earned a spot on the Metropolitan Division team for the NHL All-Star Game.
The Penguins selected Jarry in the second round (No. 44) of the 2013 NHL Draft after he went 18-7-0 with a 1.61 GAA and .936 save percentage with Edmonton of the Western Hockey League.
He played two more seasons with Edmonton and two seasons with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League before making his NHL debut in Pittsburgh's regular-season finale April 9, 2017, against the New York Rangers. He dressed as Marc-Andre Fleury's backup for the Penguins' first 11 Stanley Cup Playoff games, until Matt Murray returned from injury.
The Penguins lost Fleury to the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft, and Jarry got a chance to play after veteran Antti Niemi failed to hold the backup spot and was waived. Jarry got his first NHL win Nov. 25, 2017, against the Tampa Bay Lightning. His first NHL shutout, 4-0 against the Buffalo Sabres, came six days later. He finished 14-6-2 with a 2.77 GAA, .908 save percentage and two shutouts in 26 games (23 starts).
