Taylor, one of seven NHL goaltenders born in the United Kingdom, returned to the League in 2017-18 after an absence of five seasons. He played one game for the Ottawa Senators, making 30 saves in a 5-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on April 7. Taylor also went was 11-15-3 with Belleville of the American Hockey League in his first season in North America since 2012-13.
On April 27, 2018, Taylor returned to Russia and signed with HC Sibir Novosibirsk of the KHL, the team he played for prior to coming back to the NHL.
The Los Angeles Kings selected Taylor in the seventh round (No. 221) of the 2004 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Kings on March 29, 2008, allowing two goals and making eight saves in relief of Erik Ersberg in a 7-2 loss to the Dallas Stars.
He did not return to the NHL until the 2012-13 season when he went 1-1-0 in two games with the Calgary Flames.
