“It’s crazy,” Knuble said in the TNT interview. “I’ve been a fan of this team my whole life and I’m just grateful to be a part of this organization. They’ve been great to me since the day I got drafted. I’m glad I can contribute.”
When Knuble was asked about if his first NHL goal lived up to his dreams, the rookie said it was “amazing,” but he wished he “remembered it more.”
“I think I blacked out during the first one,” Knuble said. “I think I went down on the knee. I usually don’t do that, but I’ve been dreaming about that my whole life. It’s pretty crazy, I don’t even know what to say.”
Mike praised his son when asked about his journey to the NHL and expressed how excited he was for the Flyers rookie.
“My mind is spinning,” Mike told the TNT crew. “I’m going a million miles an hour right now. I’m just so happy to be here. I can’t even stand it. I can’t believe I’m standing here and we are having this conversation.”
The Flyers drafted Knuble in the fourth round of the 2023 NHL Draft. The 22-year-old forward made his NHL debut on Monday against the Colorado Avalanche.
